We’re in the midst of awards season and I wanted to share a couple of my favorites so far (subject to change). Every year I enjoy seeing the looks that celebrities pull together. So let's just get into it.
Colman Domingo - Critics Choice Awards
Colman was wearing a Valentino suit from the Fall 2023 Haute Couture collection. This was paired with Christian Louboutin shoes and Bulgari and Omega jewelry. This is my absolute favorite look. The mustard yellow is so beautiful on his skin and the blue button-up is the perfect contrast - color theory. The coat adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the entire look. What a classic look for a classic man.
Simona Tabasco - Emmy Awards
Truthfully I didn’t know who Simona Tabasco was but she blew me away with this one-of-a-kind Marni dress. I need to find her stylist because they really did their job. This is such a beautiful springtime dress and wearing it in mid-January brought so much color to the carpet. The flower outlining added extra shape and detail which made the colors pop even more.
Tyler James Williams - Golden Globes
Tyler James WIlliams was wearing this Dolce and Gabbana SS24 suit. The silhouette is absolutely superb. I love the cinched waist in the jacket, because it gives it a bit more structure as opposed to a traditional suit jacket. I appreciate a well-tapered men’s slack but this wide leg almost flare pant took this from a whole ensemble to the next level. Looking at pictures from the D&G show, I noticed a double-breasted suit in the same color/ pattern.I I prefer the single breast because it adds a symmetry to the entire look.
Natasha Lyonne - Golden Globes
Natasha Lyonne wore Schiaparelli Haute Couture SS23. Crazy enough, I watched this show a couple of days before seeing the Golden Globes red carpet. As soon as I saw her in this dress my eyes lit up. Something about recognizing designer pieces never gets old. Such a bold statement, as a haute couture gown should be.
Celine Song - Critics Choice Award
Celine Song was in Thom Browne double-breasted overcoat with an ankle-length skirt. This is so simple but makes such a statement. Many women have been in 2 piece suit variations this awards season but this takes the cake. From the doggy detailing to even the fit on her body, everything worked so well. The way the long coat on top of the long skirt elongates her is a 10.
Overall I won't say I'm super impressed with the looks we're getting during these awards shows but these were standouts to their counterparts. There are still a couple of shows to go, so I'm curious to see if this lineup will change.
