My High-End/ Vintage Wishlist

Last year, I spent an embarrassing amount of money on clothes, but this year is all about intentionality in my wardrobe. I’m all about having a shopping wishlist, so I’m aiming to keep it short and only purchase things I love. As I get older, I want the majority of the things I add to my closet to be pieces I can still see myself having in 5 years. Lately, I've been eyeing a lot more vintage and high-end items, so let’s get into a few things on my radar.

Vintage Fendi Baguette

I have two dream bags - a vintage Fendi Baguette and a vintage Dior Saddle bag. I started window shopping the preloved market and noticed the Fendi Baguette is quite affordable, so I’ve decided I will invest in one this year. Released in 1997, Fendi has released a plethora of designs. I currently have my eye on different animal-skinned patterns. I want something that has a lot going on but also won’t be difficult to pull out.

Golden Goose Sneakers

As you now read this, I’ve already scratched this off my list. I have been wanting a pair of Golden Goose Superstars since I was in college. I finally started looking for a pair last year. I was waiting for the winter Ssense sale to come around before I bought some. After finding the ones I wanted, I went back to pull the trigger, and my size was GONE. I was annoyed but honestly, I like to sit on my hands before I buy something to avoid impulse purchases. I ended up getting a suede green pair on sale. Honestly, I'm happy I didn’t get a white sneaker like I originally planned. Looks like patience really pays!

Brandon Blackwood x Basquiat bag

I decided I wanted to add a Brandon Blackwood bag to my collection. I was looking at the iconic Kendrick Trunks but none of them jumped out at me.

Black Fashion Fair teamed up with multiple black designers to create pieces that honored the estate of Jean Michel Basquiat in 2022 When the bag was first released, I didn’t think too much of it. A year later I came across the bag again and fell in love. The plan was to buy it this April/ May only for it to sell out about 2 weeks ago. The actual pain I am feeling?? LOL. Now, I'm stalking the Black Fashion Fair website/ reseller sites just in case God shines his light on me. I’m pretty sure it's gone but in case I find it I'm buying IMMEDIATELY. This is a collector's piece I need.

Vintage Roberto Cavalli Jeans

I've always loved Roberto Cavalli because most of his collections feature animal prints. He was such a colorful designer who never shied away from busy designs. I’ve been looking for a pair of jeans that are flare/ boot cut style with a tiger, zebra, or leopard print. Since I’m on the taller side, it narrows my search a bit but I'm sure I'll score a pair for a great price.

Roberto Cavalli passed this month on the 12th. He left an impact and the fashion world is blessed to have experienced his genius.

Isabel Marant Beckett Sneakers

These were hot in the 2010s but for some reason I HATED them. High school me was so naive LOL. Anyway, they've been making their rounds in the last couple of years and I’m loving them now. I will say I've been going back and forth on whether I want them or if I'm just lusting over them. As of now, I can confidently say I NEED it. In the meantime, I’m going to wait a bit longer and if anything I’ll gift these to myself for my birthday. One last time - patience pays. On the preloved market, vibrant colors like blue, red, and yellow have caught my eye. Y’all may or may not see these on my feet stay tuned.

These are just a couple of things that I would like to add this year. The goal is to be very curated and intentional. Can't wait to look at my list at the end of the year and see what I add to my wardrobe.
